So many Puppies… 2021 Sprint Litter

Watch as the puppies have been moved into the main room. Its fun to see how they react to being in a larger space. They struggle with the bars and run into them, but enjoy the opportunity to run around out side.

As of the time of this post, 1 of the 9 have been purchased.

Guardians of the Galaxy… Puppy Fight Club.

The puppies have started to get active, and are now play more than normal. As they get older, puppies start to develop their social skills. This includes growling and play fighting, to develop a sense of what appropriate play is. This is one of the first times, that they started to tumble and play, and we got it on video. Enjoy

Goldendoodle Puppy Seeking Home w/ his ‘Perfect’ Human.

Mr. Tangerine

Contact Puppy Pals to find out if you are a good fit for Mr. Tangerine!

Mr. Tangerine or Tangeriny is a Goldendoodle F1b puppy, that is just the right amount of calm and playfulness. He is an excellent listener and enjoys his time cuddle in someone’s lap. He isn’t like the other puppies that will bark and yip, for attention. He is considerate and patient waiting for his turn.

Mr. Tangerine is the last puppy in his litter, even though, he is the softest of his brothers and sisters. What he is looking for in a human:

  • Must enjoy cuddling and rub his belly
  • Doesn’t expect him to bark and make a fuss every time someone comes over
  • Must be willing to feed him at least twice a day, and provide water as needed
  • Willing to take him on walks outside on nice days
  • He would prefer his own bed, in an AC environment
  • Considers himself a looker, and his human, must be willing to brush his fur every day.

If he sounds like the perfect puppy for you, please contact Puppy Pals to submit your application.

Caring For Your Goldendoodle

Getting Vaccinated

When and how often does your dog need vaccinations?
See this article for more information on vaccinating your dogs (link coming soon)

Blankets

Blankets are really an optional item for your dog, but in the beginning, you might want to ensure that. We will be sending your puppy home with one of these blankets by Comsmart.

Dog Beds

When should we get our dog a bed?

This can differ depending on the dog, but at Puppy Pals we have found that after the teething stages a dog bed becomes a viable option. During the teething stages, the puppy will most likely chew and potentially destroy the soft material that makes up the dog bed.

If looking for a reccomendation, we do like these types of dog beds:

Collars

When it comes to picking a collar for your dog, it is going to come down to personal preference. Most collars really only give you a small variety of things to choice from when considering your options.

  • Do you want it customized with the Dogs name and contact information?
  • What type of release do you want? We prefer a release that is quick and easy, in the event we need to remove the collar quickly.
  • Construction durability – this can sometimes be hard to determine based on the information provided on Amazon, but I would skim the user reviews to ensure a quality product.
  • Puppy Pals Utah dogs all have inner padding on the collar to make it more comfortable for the dog and ensure it doesn’t irritate your dog.

Do I still need a regular collar if I purchased the gentle leader?

Yes, you will still want both. The Gentle Leader is designed for training, and a standard collar should not be used for training your dog. See this article for more information on the Gentle Leader 7 Things you should have before bringing your puppy home.

Treats

We specifically like these, which we picked up at Costco, but found them available here on Amazon. Costco, has switched to a different package, and we like these containers better than a bag, so we are buying them online now.

Why do we like these Jerky Treats?

We like these, because for training your puppy/dog, you will be going thru a lot of treats, and these treats are soft and can break into smaller pieces really easily. This allows you to make the treats last a long time, while still rewarding your puppy without fear of giving them to many treats.

Here is the link to Costco, and you can see that they are more expensive at Costco now. Buy them here

Nutritonal Supplement

PuppyPals Utah has used the following High-Calorie Nutritional Supplement for our dogs when they are having issues eating, or need the extra calories.

Hair Detangler and Keep Them Smelling Fresh

If you have taken your dog to the groomer, you most likely noticed that they smell really good when they come back. If you are looking to capture a pleasant smell with your dog and ensure they have a soft and tangle-free coat, we recommend using a detangler. We use the following :

Potty Training your Goldendoodle, FAQ.

We recently received a question, that I thought was worth sharing with the group.

What type of Products do we recommend when potty training young golden doodles?

Below is a great way to keep your dogs from wetting any carpeted area of your home. We use two of these where they most often sleep, play and are crated. This item can easily be washed in your washing machine.

What about smell, does it smell after you being washed?

No, we have found that if washed with an extra rinse (if it has been used a lot) that they do not smell. We do however wash them frequently to ensure that they are never left to sit for more than 24-48 hours (depending on the age of the puppies).
